I was at the gym today. It was after a good swim, and I had gotten dried off and dressed. I was sat and noticed some of the guys flexing their muscles (a few of which I had to laugh at) in the mirrors, and had a realization: I am not doing too badly.
This bolt from the blue was interesting and consisted of the following;
1: Most of the guys at the gym, I can fairly say, have had no major medical issues. No spinal surgeries, no missing duodenum's, and no hip replacements.
2: For someone who can't eat complex proteins that are found in meat, I have a pretty good build happening.
3: Considering that due to side effects of surgeries I am doing good for the types of exercises I can do. Due to rotator cuff issues, many heavy weights our out for me. Due to a curved back, doing most forms of bench press is out. Having a replaced hip means I can't flex too much past 90 degrees without the chance of it popping out. And also due to my back, I can't lift more than a specific weight above my head, as it causes extra pressure on my spine .
So generally, for this 35 year old, not anywhere near medically fit for something other than dog food, I am not doing too bad at all.
