So today, I was filling out a thing for something to do with disability. And I realized the following:
1: I can't drive because I can't turn my head past my shoulder, and also because a long drive would kill my back.
2: Even though I can walk well, having weight on my back of more than 5kg is painful, stairs are an absolute nightmare if longer than one flight due to breathing with the kyphosis.
3: Drinking from a can is a nightmare to get the last 1/4 out because it causes headaches unless I use a straw or cup...
4: The worst part, is having had all the pain medication over the years, there is that very small nattering in the back of my head that wants a morphine shot just to not feel anything for a while. I am proud to say that I have not had any since my hip froze before the surgery.
5: The other worst part, is because I can workout, control my pain through exercise and want to represent England in cycling for the masters games at some point, people see me as disabled because of the back, but I don't feel that I am. I think that is the denial part.
There are a whole bunch of other things that are starting to get clear on it, but I will post these another time.
Regards,
Agent Orange Mutant!
